Well I am back on line thank goodness got rid of the wireless and back with the broadband I don’t like the wireless not at all my cup of tea and far too expensive! $48 a month for 1 GB ridiculous especially when one is used to 12 GB for $57.

Reading http://nicenwarm.blogspot.com/ about her trouble with her internet suppliers I can completely sympathise with her!

These last three months I have had that many run ins with these people, almost the same problems as nicenwarm. You come across some who don’t understand a word you are saying (or so they make out)
How could someone not understand my nice Scottish accent lol No seriously it has drove me silly at times you just about have to spell everything out to them It got to the point I hung up on them three times so dissatisfied.
And finding myself getting so angry with manor in which some of these people spoke to me. Others didn’t seem to know too much about computers or internet so why do they work there?
Very few seemed to be any good with PR skills, maybe these companies should give there staff more PR lessons as they sure do lack them and maybe some basic computer and internet skills

I had an email from my cousin and he was telling me he and another cousin are booking to go to Cyprus next year for a holiday Well I don’t know much about Cyprus haven’t been there so done a wee search and was quite taken with it. It looks an okay country what I have read about it so far

Chicken with spicy roasted vegetable salad

INGREDIENTS

1 large kumara, peeled, cut into bite-size chunks
1 red capsicum, chopped
1 yellow capsicum, chopped
2 zucchini, thickly sliced
¼ cup (60ml) olive oil
2 teaspoons fennel seeds
¼-½ teaspoon chilli flakes
2 large chicken breasts
1 punnet cherry tomatoes
100g bag baby four seasons salad
1-2 tablespoons balsamic vinegar

METHOD

1. Preheat oven to 200°C or 180°C fan. Place vegetables, 2 tablespoons of olive oil, fennel seeds and chilli flakes in a roasting pan. Season and toss to coat. Bake for 15 minutes.

2. Meanwhile, heat remaining oil in a frying pan on medium. Cook chicken breasts for 2 minutes each side, until browned. Place chicken and tomatoes in roasting pan with vegetables and cook for 10 minutes, until cooked. Slice chicken.

3. Serve with salad drizzled with balsamic vinegar.

Our weather has been shocking rain, rain and such strong winds. It’s been horribly cold and so wet. I just hope all the rain we have had will help with the water restrictions, the dams and reservoirs must have a lot of water in them now surly?

To be honest I like the subtropical weather I think I may have to move!

Our kids have been on two weeks holidays from school they go back Monday thank goodness not just for us adults but for the kids I’m sure they all get so board after a week, and when the weather is constantly wet there isn’t a lot they can do.

But these past weeks I have just been so busy with one thing or another and by the time evening comes I am just too exhausted to come on.

With this move all I could get was wireless connection for the net and I don’t like it prefer my broadband, hopefully that will be available here soon.

And on top of this I had to get a new laptop, at least I am happy with that!

Tonight I watched CI on the box it was a documentary about the Snowtown murders in South Australia boy was it an eye opener I heard about it when it happened but didn’t get into all the details, but sat through all the program tonight and it was terrible all the gruesome details those men were sick and getting life was too lenient for them I think
Still making my skin crawl now thinking about it!

Well haven’t managed to be on here much at all My cold turned out to be a flu and kidney infection, which sent me to bed, kidney is fine now but the flu just lingers on in the background

We have finally settled into the new place though I still haven’t unpacked everything!

My grandson got a fairly decent report last week at his check up he doesn’t have to go back for 8 weeks so I am taking that as good news :-)

It may take me a few weeks to get through everyone’s pages so please bare with me I promise I will be on your page soon

Hi everyone haven’t been on for some time. I have been such a busy beaver. We moved house oh boy is that a upheaval First you have all the packing and you think that’s bad, but boy when you start the unpacking that’s a whole new story

You swear someone has packed more in your boxes as you seem to have so much and just not enough space to put it all Here I am five weeks after the move and still have some things I haven’t unpacked I just have no idea where to put it.

Two weeks after the move someone stole my daughter’s car grrr she did get it back a few days later minus lots.

My grandson is still the same no worse but no better either Im not happy with what’s going on there but not a lot I can do except be there for my daughter and grandson

I took a head cold three weeks ago and still have it now the doc is saying its the flu What ever it is it’s a pain

Well my grandson is really having a time of it and as the time goes on I am just getting angrier. They have been putting off the biopsy for over a month now hoping that his levels would drop (protein), which they haven’t.

Now they say they will test again end of the week and if the level is still the same they will have to do the biopsy

But in the meantime he is not allowed to run around and play with the other kids He hasn’t been to school incase he has a fall or a knock (all work is brought home for him)

I think the biopsy should have been done long ago instead of all this waiting and watching the little lad going up and down with this darned illness.

Well what a shock I heard the other day from one of my grand kids who is 8 while the class were in the yard doing PT, someone went into there class room and killed there goldfish, by cutting them up into pieces with scissors. Placing some of the pieces on the teacher’s desk!

I have been thinking since then what on earth would cause a child to do such an act I am truly at a lose!

What is this child seeing in his or her home? I can only assume it has to have some reflection on how this child has acted

Serves 4

Cooking Time Prep time 5 mins, cook 20 mins

125 ml	(½ cup) olive oil
2	eggplants, cut widthways into 1 cm-thick slices (you need 20 slices)
4	(80gm each) buffalo mozzarella, thinly sliced
1/3 cup	(loosely packed) oregano leaves
260 gm	(1 cup) passata
To serve:	rocket and parmesan salad
Parmesan crumbs
25 gm	(½ cup) coarse fresh breadcrumbs
¼ cup	(20gm) finely grated parmesan
1 tbsp	olive oil

1	Heat half the olive oil in a large frying pan, fry half the eggplant slices over high heat, turning frequently, until golden and cooked through (4-5 minutes). Drain on absorbent paper. Season to taste with sea salt and freshly ground black pepper. Repeat with remaining olive oil and eggplant slices.
2	Preheat oven to 200C. Place 4 rounds of eggplant in a small roasting pan, top each with mozzarella, scatter with oregano. Repeat with remaining eggplant slices, mozzarella and oregano, alternating layers and finishing with mozzarella. Pour passata around eggplant and bake until cheese has melted (5-7 minutes).
3	Meanwhile, for parmesan crumbs, combine breadcrumbs and parmesan on an oven tray, drizzle with olive oil and season to taste. Toast in oven, stirring occasionally, until golden (5 minutes).
4	Serve eggplant, scattered with parmesan crumbs, with rocket and parmesan salad to the side.

Spatchcocks with fresh garlic, fennel and peas

Serves 4
Cooking Time prep time 5 mins, cook 50 mins

4	spatchcock, butterflied and halved
6 cloves	garlic, thinly sliced
6	spring onions, cut in half crossways
6 (about 550gm) bulbs	baby fennel, quartered
250ml (1 cup)	dry white wine
60ml (¼ cup)	extra-virgin olive oil
400 gm	podded peas, cooked
1 tbsp	finely chopped mint

1	Preheat oven to 200C. Place spatchcock in an ovenproof dish and scatter with garlic, fennel and spring onions. Pour over wine and olive oil and season generously with sea salt and freshly ground black pepper and bake for 40 minutes.
2	Stir in peas and mint and cook for a further 10 minutes before serving.

Well I am coming back on the net on and off, but still not into the full swing of it

Once I know what the outcome will be for my grandson things will be different

I am glad he is only seven as he doesn’t fully understand all of what’s going on with his little body.

I believe in a case of a little one like this situation ignorance can be a blessing for the child!

Baked tomato meatballs

INGREDIENTS

650g lean beef mince
½ cup (35g) fresh breadcrumbs
2 green onions (shallots), chopped
2 tablespoons chopped oregano, plus extra leaves to serve
2 garlic cloves, chopped
1 x 700g bottle tomato passata (see tip)
½ cup (60g) grated tasty cheese
mashed potato, to serve

METHOD

1. Place beef mince, breadcrumbs, green onion, oregano and garlic in a large bowl and season to taste. Mix well to combine. Roll mixture into 16 balls.

2. Spray a non-stick frying pan with cooking oil spray and heat on medium-high. Cook meatballs for 10 minutes, until browned and cooked through. Meanwhile, heat passata in a saucepan for 5 minutes, until warm. Transfer meatballs to a greased baking dish. Pour over passata and scatter with cheese.

3. Place under a hot grill for 5 minutes, until cheese melts. Top with extra
oregano and serve with mashed potato.

Adelaide breaks another heat record

Adelaide has set another heatwave record as firefighters remain fearful a bushfire south of the city could break containment lines.
More than 200 firefighters contained a blaze near Willunga which started on Thursday afternoon, but authorities are concerned a potential wind change later could spread the fire.

Their fears came as a grass fire was reported at Balhannah in the Adelaide Hills about 2.15pm CDT. There were no immediate reports of injuries or loss of property.

The blazes came after Adelaide recorded its hottest March night in history, with an overnight minimum temperature of 30.2 degrees.

The city's forecast maximum of 40 degrees is the 12th consecutive day of temperatures above 35 degrees - the longest heatwave ever in any Australian capital city.

More than 317,000 people from 41 countries took part in the world’s largest ever survey on sexual attitudes and behaviour. The research confirmed that Greece is officially the sexiest country with the Greeks having sex 138 times a year - well above the global average of 103. Croatia (134) and Serbia and Montenegro (128) come a close second and third.

Almost half of all adults surveyed said they were happy with their sex lives although men are the least satisfied with how often they have sex. The survey also revealed the global average age for first time sex is 17.3 and the trend is for people to lose their virginity earlier, with 16 to 20 year olds becoming sexually active by 16.3 years.

Most people believe sex education should start at 11.7 years. Virtually all those surveyed believe children of 16 and under should receive sex education and more than a third believe governments should invest in sex education in schools. Almost half of all adults globally admit to having had unprotected sex without knowing their partner’s sexual history, despite more than one in 10 admitting to having had a sexually transmitted infection (STI).

How the research was conducted

Based on the number of respondents from 41 countries, the 2005 Durex Global Sex Survey is the largest sexual health research project of its kind in the world. Now in its ninth year, the survey has quadrupled in size since its launch and covers 41 countries - newcomers this year included Indonesia and Chile. This is the fourth year that this survey has been carried out via the durex.com website and responses have been analysed by sex and age to give an in-depth and truly global picture of sexual attitudes and behaviour.

This is very interesting and not the ending I had expected!!!!

A few years after I was born, my Dad met a stranger who was new to our
small

Texas town. From the beginning, Dad was fascinated with this enchanting
newcomer and soon invited him to live with our family. The stranger was
quickly accepted and was around from then on.

As I grew up, I never questioned his place in my family. In my young
mind, he had a special niche. My parents were complementary instructors:
Mom taught me good from evil, and Dad taught me to obey. But the
stranger...he was our storyteller. He would k eep us spellboun d for hours
on end with adventures, mysteries and comedies.

If I wanted to know anything about politics , history or science, he
always knew the answers about the past, understood the present and even
seemed able to predict the future! He took my family to the first major
league ball

game. He made me laugh, and he made me cry. The stranger never stopped
talking, but Dad didn't seem to mind.

Sometimes, Mom would get up quietly while the rest of us were shushing
each other to listen to what he had to say, and she would go to the
kitchen

for peace and quiet. (I wonder now if she ever prayed for the stranger
to
leave.)

Dad ruled our household with certain moral convictions, but the stranger
never felt obligated to honor them. Profan! ity, for example, was not
allowed in our home... Not from us, our fr iends or any v isitors. Our
longtime visitor, however, got away with four-letter words that burned
my ears and made my dad squir m and my mother blush. My Dad didn't permit
the liberal use of alcohol. But the stranger encouraged us to try it on
a regular basis. He made cigarettes look cool, cigars manly and pipes
distinguished.
He talked freely (much too freely!) about sex. His comments were
sometimes blatant, sometimes suggestive, and generally embarrassing.

I now know that my early concepts about relationships were influenced
strongly by the stranger. Time after time, he opposed the values of my
parents, yet he was seldom rebuked... And NEVER asked to leave.

More than fifty years have passed since the stranger moved in with our
family. He has blended right in and is not nearly as fascinating as he
was at first. Still, if you could walk into my parents' den today , you
; would still find him sitting over in his corner, waiting for someone to
listen to him talk and watch him draw his pictur es.

His name?.... . . . . . . We just call him 'TV.'

Aussie air travelers vote babies out

Crying babies and their parents should be separated from other passengers on overseas flights, according to voters in a new survey. An overwhelming 81 percent of the nearly 2500 Australian travellers surveyed believe there should be a separate area for parents with babies or toddlers on overseas flights. Three per cent voted that babies did not belong on planes at all, while the remaining 16 per cent said everyone deserved to be treated equally. But while the totaltravel.com survey indicated the low tolerance of air travellers to distracting noise, the company's global marketing manager Paul Fisher said a separate room was unlikely to become reality. "Unless parents campaign for their own separate area, I think everyone will be sharing cabin space for some time to come", he said. He suggested that parents contact their chosen airline prior to departure to determine what onboard entertainment was available for their children. Airlines usually have a range of games and activities to keep young travellers amused and occupied for lengthy periods of time. Parents can also bring their child's favourite soft toys, games or food, he said.

A Chinese woman has been arrested in Taiwan for allegedly beating her estranged local-born husband with wooden sticks and chaining him up in her home for more than a month, police here said Thursday.

The victim, identified only by his surname Hsu, suffered multiple wounds and bruises all over his body and had lost 20 kilogrammes (44 pounds) due to lack of food, said police in the southern city of Kaohsiung.

"She put socks in my mouth to keep me quiet when beating me and only gave me food every three or four days ... She threatened to kill me and our son if I went to the police," a visibly shaken Hsu told CtiTV.

A distraught north Queensland family threw chairs at a 5m python in a fruitless attempt to stop it devouring their pet chihuahua. The snake stalked the silky terrier-cross late Monday night, eventually settling down to consume the dog on the veranda of Daniel Peric's Kuranda home as his two horrified children watched, The Cairns Post reported. When snake experts arrived to remove the non-venomous reptile, all that could be seen of the dog was its tail and back legs.

"We'd had the dog about five years, so it was part of the family," Mr Peric said to the newspaper.

The worlds smallest production car was built by PEC-The Peel Engineering Company, on The Isle Of Man between 1962 and 1965. The Peel Engineering Company were originally makers of fibre-glass fairings and small boats when they turned their skills into car production.

It was called the Peel P50 and first retailed for £150. It is the only car ever manufactured on the Isle of Man.

The Peel P50 was a three-wheeled microcar manufactured in 1962 by the Manx Peel Engineering Company, retailing for £150 when new.^[1] It was designed as a town car and was advertised as capable of seating "one adult and a shopping bag". The car currently holds the record for the smallest-ever automobile to go into mass production, at just 134 cm (53 in) long and 99 cm (39 in) wide, with a weight of only 59 kg (132 lb). The vehicle's only door was on its left side, and equipment included a single windscreen wiper, and only one headlight. Standard colours were Daytona White, Dragon Red, and Capri Blue. Well so far so good with the new medicine I don’t seem to be having any side affects with it thank goodness

I don’t read the little pamphlet you get with your medicine I see so many people that do and about a few hours after they start the medicine they imagine they have some of the side affects

I always ask the doctor if there any chance they could affect my other medication etc before starting anything

As for my herbal tablets that I take, I do the same there always ask the doctor if the could react differently with my medication

I don’t like taking so much medication but it’s a case of I have to, they consist of a beta blocker, (keeps the old ticker at good rate) thyroxin, (no thyroid) nexium, (for ulcer) and my antidepressants and a few others

My parathyroid was damaged when they removed my thyroid so have to take medicine for that also

NIU Campus Shooting

A man dressed in black opened fired with a shotgun from the stage of a lecture hall at Northern Illinois University on Thursday before he killed himself, the school's president said. The bloodbath claimed a total of six lives, including the gunman, and another 16 were wounded. The shooter has been identified as 27-year-old Steven Kazmierczak, a former graduate student in sociology, according to university officials.

Sorry but I have no sympathy for anyone who commits such a terrible crime. No matter what they say he may have had wrong with him Nothing gives anyone the right to commit such an act.

Hi well today I had my check up with the doctor, and he agrees that my antidepressants are not working as they should, so he is changing them.

The only problem is I have to come off the old ones gradually and at same time build up on the new ones I just hope I don’t get mixed up with them

But as long as the new ones work it will be with all the messing about

I will let you know in a week or so if I notice any difference

Below is my daily pill box I have 6 tablets in it for every day, and besides these I take 4 herbal

tablets If they all kick in at the same time no one will be able to keep up with me lol :-)

Oh my MP3 player retired today now I am in two minds if I should get another or not.
Some of them are so expensive, and if you are going to get one you have to make sure it's a good one.
The new ipod looks pretty good but there are lots of brands out there to chose from

I also would have my memory sticks with me which are really handy with lots of space to load onto it for home work etc
They are really handy even for use in the library so many uses for them I couldn't mention everything there useful for!

Listening to the news on the radio earlier and it said, two pilots had been stabbed on an Air New Zealand flight in a foiled hijacking attempt. And this was a woman from Blenheim, originally from Somalia.

Both pilots were taken to hospital with the stab wounds but I haven’t heard any more since so far.

Heck what next I can’t for the life of me work out what they honestly get out of theses act’s of terrorism. The Koran doesn’t teach this no matter what these people say

Just have a little read and anyone can see it’s not a hatred book terrorists have just taken there interpretation which I so wrong!

These last few months I really haven’t done much!

What with panic anxiety and depression I could say I haven’t been myself

But that would be a bit of an understatement

Some days I haven’t even got dressed I have a shower and put clean PJs on

I have tried everything to overcome the three curses,

But just seem to sink a little lower each day

I think what makes me so angry is I have no idea what started any of it off

This week I have lost my key card, mind you I haven’t been over the door

Where it has gone I haven’t got a clue, and I had no reason to have it out my purse.

I take an antidepressant which obviously isn’t helping me much

Maybe the fact that I don’t like antidepressants (I think they are dangerous) I may have in my subconscious that fact so therefore I block them from working on me

Oh I don’t know it’s all guess work, all I know is how I feel and that’s crap.

I pretend to be happy,
But that's not how I feel.
I try to focus on the pain;

THE FBI has been accused of covering up a key case file detailing evidence against corrupt government officials and their dealings with a network stealing nuclear secrets.

The assertion follows allegations made in The Sunday Times two weeks ago by Sibel Edmonds, an FBI whistleblower, who worked on the agency’s investigation of the network.

Edmonds, a 37-year-old former Turkish language translator, listened into hundreds of sensitive intercepted conversations while based at the agency’s Washington field office.

She says the FBI was investigating a Turkish and Israeli-run network that paid high-ranking American officials to steal nuclear weapons secrets. These were then sold on the international black market to countries such as Pakistan and Saudi Arabia.

Bizarro

Bizarro is a fictional character, a doppelgänger of DC Comics’ Superman. Created by writer Otto Binder and artist George Papp, he first appeared in Superboy #68 (October 1958).

Due to a somewhat disjointed continuity, several versions of Bizarro have appeared in DC comic books, all of them inversions of Superman (or Superboy) with gray or chalk-white skin, a twisted sense of logic which typically manifests as a superficial "opposite" of anything Superman would do or say and a resultant speech pattern ("Me am going to kill you" would mean "I will save you" in Bizarro speech). Due to his imperfections, Bizarro is frequently a foe of Superman, but sometimes finds himself in the role of hero (in this case, an anti-hero).

The original Bizarro was created when Superboy was exposed to a "duplicate ray." Deep brain stimulation boosts memory

Researchers who were experimenting with ways to control appetite have stumbled across a possible treatment for Alzheimer's and similar disorders.

An experiment using deep brain stimulation to control appetite unexpectedly improved a patient's memory, a finding that might offer a new way to treat memory disorders, researchers said this week.

Writing in the Annals of Neurology, researchers said that electrodes implanted in the brain of an obese 50-year-old man stimulated vivid memories from the patient's youth and improved his recall on verbal memory tests. The effect disappeared when the electrodes were turned off.

Deep brain stimulation is approved to treat essential tremors and Parkinson's disease. The electrodes, which are permanently implanted in the brain, are powered by batteries and can be turned on and off with an external controller.

The experimental surgery -- the first of its kind to treat obesity -- was a last resort for the man, who weighed 420 pounds and had experienced no success with diets, weight-loss drugs and psychological counseling.

The man, who had diabetes and other health problems, had refused gastric bypass surgery, believing it would not curb his eating.

The electrodes were placed in the hypothalamus, an almond-size area of the brain that regulates hunger, among other things. The theory was that electrical stimulation of the hypothalamus would reduce the man's appetite. The man was fully awake during surgery.

When the electrodes were activated in the operating room, the man suddenly recalled being in a park with friends 30 years earlier. He did not see himself in the scene but recognized an old girlfriend. When the electrical charge was increased, details became more vivid.

Months later, the man was given verbal memory tests with and without the electrical stimulation. His scores tripled with the electrodes switched on.

Andres Lozano, a neuroscientist at Toronto Western Hospital in Canada and senior author, said his team is now testing deep brain stimulation in patients with early Alzheimer's disease.

The procedure was successful in curbing the patient's appetite. But that was not enough. The man turned the electrodes off at night, and when he did so, he ate, Lozano said.

All parents are mean for a reason. As we grow into adults we know why our moms and dads were mean. Someday when my children are old enough to understand the logic that motivates a parent, I will tell them:

I loved you enough... to ask where you were going, with whom, and what time you would be home.
I loved you enough... to insist that you save your money and buy a bike for yourself even though we could afford to buy one for you.
I loved you enough... to be silent and let you discover that your new best friend was a creep.
I loved you enough... to make you go pay for the bubble gum you had taken and tell the clerk, "I stole this yesterday and want to pay for it."
I loved you enough... to stand over you for two hours while you cleaned your room, a job that should have taken 15 minutes.

I loved you enough... to let you see anger, disappointment, and tears in my eyes. Children must learn that their parents aren't perfect.
I loved you enough... to let you assume the responsibility for your actions even when the penalties were so harsh they almost broke my heart.

But most of all, I loved you enough... to say NO when I knew you would hate me for it.

Those were the most difficult battles of all. I'm glad I won them because in the end you won, too. And someday when your children are old enough to understand the logic that motivates parents, you will tell them....

While other kids ate candy for breakfast, we had to have cereal, eggs, and toast.

We were ashamed to admit it, but Mom had the nerve to break the Child Labor Laws by making us work. We had to wash the dishes, make the beds, learn to cook, vacuum the floor, do laundry, empty the trash and all sorts of cruel jobs. I think she would lie awake at night thinking of more things for us to do.

They always insisted on us telling the truth, the whole truth, and nothing but the truth.
By the time we were teenagers, they could read our minds. Then, life was really tough!

My mother and father wouldn't let our friends just honk the horn when they drove up. They had to come up to the door so they could meet them.

While everyone else could date when they were 12 or 13, we had to wait until we were 16.

Because of our parents we missed out on lots of things other kids experienced.

None of us have ever been caught shoplifting, vandalizing others' property or ever arrested for any crime.

It was all their fault.

Now that we have left home, we are all educated, honest adults. We are doing our best to be mean parents just like ours were.

I think that is what's wrong with the world today.
It just doesn't have enough mean moms and dads.
